American Ibiza-virgin needs wardrobe advice... please!

Hi I-S people, I've been reading through a lot of the site, and essentially used it to plan my best friend's and my first trip to Ibiza. Great site - those involved in running this place should be commended!

Anyway to the point: I am a 23 year old American guy who's as straight as they come, and fairly conservative - but I love electronica, and I'm certainly pumped about hitting the clubs in Ibiza in about 2 weeks! =] (Espeically Van Buuren & Shultz at Amnesia!) I'd like to go for something between 'orange mohawk' and '3 piece suit'. ;)

Just trying to get an idea of the feel of the island. Thanks! 8)
 
Basically anything and everything goes in Ibiza. I normally dress for comfort cos you'll be doing some long old clubbing sesh's and it will be really hot, just wear whatever you feel comfortable in.

Believe me when you've see a grown-man in a Spiderman costume in a club in Ibiza then you'll realise that anything goes :lol:
 
Thanks, Barbie - I kinda got that feeling but havng an expert confirm it is nice. ;)

Any etiquette tips? I'm a proud American but I also don't want to be 'that guy from the states' who does something every other American does to piss people off =P

Don't try to pay your bus fare with American currency! Some NJ meat head did that on the Airport bus to Ibiza town, and I refused to speak the entire trip lest he hear my American accent and try to bond with me...nor did I want the other passengers to associate me with "that."

I really wouldn't worry about your etiquette. If you're conscientious enough to post the question, I'm certain that you will be fine. Have a good trip!

As for dress, being a guy you don't really have to worry about it. But try to dress for the heat (it's hot outside, but it's much hotter in the clubs).

One of the best things of Ibiza is that you can wear anything. I remember some years ago this woman dressed in some sort of transparent plastic or rubber, and wearing just a tanga underneath, and with no bra on. Reminded me of Blade Runner, but even sexier. ;)

(cynical Euros note annoying American smiley at end of sentence.... ;) )

This all sounds great - my friend and I are off tomorrow and will land at like 7pm. Call us ridiuclous, but we're really excited (been hopping around Europe and now we're going to cap off the vacation with 4 days in IBZ baby! )

Any other Ibiza Virgins want to meet up tomorrow night for a first evening out on the White Isle? Just two of us guys here - 23 & 24.
