almond trees in blossom (pics included)

the land in the middle of the island (santa agnes,
san mateu) is full of almond trees, and
the blossoming is happening right now...
it just leasts for 5 or 6 days.

views are great, and even the smell is magical
in that place....

today we did some pics, enjoy them :P

and who'd have thought that this was san antonio?

lovely pictures tb but, like every photo i have seen, they can't do justice to the real thing. it is truly breathtaking as you descend into the valley and see it covered in pinky white blossom like snow. absolutely magical.

Oh! Beautiful ! Am very very tempted to take a few days break in Ibiza at half term this Feb .. just to take the island in during the civilised months!

Do it Saffy, you will love it. Two years ago I spent 8 days at the end of april and it was magic!
 
Poo .. typically BMI Baby aren't flying out at the time of year I want to go ... Oh well .. !

My internet service is crap, those pics won't download! I wan't to see the trees, the few photos I saw from last year were unbelievable!

I guess I truly am a Green...wanting to see pics of trees 8)

Yes but they fly to barcelona, you can always get a ferry. ;)

Failing that, you can drive to barcelona if you have to!!!
 
they blossom at about the same time every year.

don't forget it's our spring now in ibiza.

in this years was 1 month earlier,

this year it will be on january 28th!! :D

the starting point for this excursion is the fountains square in san antonio at 8pm!! :idea:

) 4 local heavy metal bands will be playing in the fountain square the same night from 10pm: dark elf, vitrol, kin blau and kamikaze..........
 
Full Moon Walk.
With full moon lighting the cold & damp but relatively clear winter night sky, around 100 residents took part in a walk around the countryside near Santa Agnes (last year it attracted a few hundreds more but this time the weather was very cold). It was amazing to see a different perspective of the local landscape & the fabulous vegetation, including the white blossom on the almond trees, lit up by the moon rather than the sun. All were spell bound by the beauty & some even chose to spend the night camping in the countryside at a site organised for the event by the Town Hall in Sant Antoni & the neighbours association in Santa Agnes.
