This site is for music lovers everywhere. To give you a brief introduction to the site I've listened to various types of music over the past few years and its now time for me to make my own sound. Using various music software and editing tools I'm going to create a new style of music. My own unique style in the form of techno, chillout, ambient, dance, trance etc etc. I'm not just concentrating on one stlye oh no that would be too easy. I've already started to create these tracks. It won't be long before a new style of music is upon us.

By golly I can't wait, especially since the lad has such a superb taste in the music:

Although my favourite Dance artists of all time has to be Scooter, I love the lyrics and just love the songs, from the old school hardcore sound right up to todays sound of techno/trance they are just simply amazing.

"The Beginning Of A New Kind Of Music Is Almost Upon Us"

Surely proves it's a wind up?

He's on another (nameless forum). Bart's gonna string him along for a little while until we can get our hands on his Demo CD :D

my sarc-o-meter has gone haywire!!

tell me bart, as i'm a complete novice in dance music, why his music is not good, and whatever it is you like is good?

Scooter have a song which includes the lyric (shouted) 'Respect to the man in the ice cream van.'

That is all.

You forgot the immortal lines from Nessaja:-
"It's not a bird, it's not a plane, it must be Dave who's on the train".

Hey, music snobbery is not good but you have to draw a line. Scooter is an insult to dance music. For a start, it's not dance music, it's pop music.

i'm still no wiser. can someone explain why the website guy has terrible taste in music and you lot don't?

i like jazz btw, miles, john, sun ra, pharoah, donald byrd, etc etc. how does that fit into the great scheme of things? am i cool or uncool?

Stephen, you can like or dislike electronic dance music. That's fine. Yes, jazz is cool and the artists you listed are among the greats.

But what we're talking about here, in ridiculing this guy's love of the artist Scooter, is cheesy hard dance songs with an uncharasmatic guy screaming lyrics like those listed above (and there's even worse ones out there) through a heavy-echo mic.

I suppose you've got to hear it to despise it :?

but isn't most house music produced by some bedroomed geek with computer, drum machine, a james brown album, and lacking in sufficient social skills to pop out for 20 rothmans?

hardly charismatic is it?

i'd like to work the word genres into this thread somehow. can anyone help me?

I think, stephen, that people are willing to have a go at this guy because of his incredibly grandiloquent statements, that he is going to create a whole new brand of dance music, when it's blatently obvious he has a less than encyclopedic knowledge of the subject.

To use your jazz as an analogy, it's like someone who cites Kenny G as an influence and proclaims that he is going to begin a new sub-genre of Jazz music. Plainly ridiculous.
