15th august-public holiday?

10 days to go before we fly out 2 san an. hav heard that the 15th is a public holiday-the assumption of the virgin or sumet!could anybody tell me how that wil affect san an?will places stil be open or wat?
also, we'r there for the st bartholemew fiesta on the 24th,wat goes on n is it worth seeing?

the 15th is a sunday - so we workers lose our holiday!

san bartolome is celebrated with a big fireworks display at midnight from the windmill which can be seen from san an and the bay.

the ordinary shops and banks will be closed on that day but becasue san an has tourist area status the vast majority of places are allowed to remain open.
