Hallo!!

My name is Katch and I'm Irish.

OK, so, all going according to plan we should be flying in sept 12th for a week. i have been appointed entertainments officer (thank you, thank you, delighted i'm sure) - have checked out the clubbing calendar but just wondering what the word on the street was? any unmissables?

Charmed.

Welcome Katch ;)
There is 1 unmissable if you arrive during the day on 12th and that is We love @ Space 8) :D :D Not only is it in itself a corker of a session but on that date a lot of us Spotlighters will be there :D :D :D :D
See ya there :P

Katch,

We're coming across the pond from Canada and will be on the island from September 13-18.

I have been watching this board for a while now and it seems the following are endorsed by most as being worthy events:

1. "Manumission" on Monday's (actually, people are split on this but I continually hear that it must be attended once, so we'll probably hit it and then carry-on the next day at Space) or "Release Yourself" with Roger Sanchez at Pacha also comes highly recommended and it seems that one can get into the club for free (saving 35 Euro per person) if you have dinner at the Pacha Restaurant before going to the club. Most people have been saying the restaurant is slightly pricey, but when combined with club entry to a solid night then it becomes a good deal.

2. Tuesday afternoon at Bora Bora beach bar. Check out the Bora Bora site referenced in "New Pages" in the bottom right corner of the main Ibiza-Spotlight page for some motivational pictures.

3. Sunset and meal at Kumharas on the west side of the island. I guess there are numerous choices for sunset bars and this one is getting repeated good reviews.

4. Closing party for Cream at Amnesia on Thursday the 16th. I realize that in Europe, you get to hear the likes of PVD and Tiesto fairly often, but there is no way we are going to miss hearing these two back to back, no matter how busy the club supposedly gets. PVD has been to my City only once (Calgary, Alberta) and he played a short set, but it was still absolutely insane. I still think PVD is the ultimate DJ for a big party and we need one night of trance to mix in with all the sweet house music we are going to hear everywhere else.

5. Maybe going to hit the "What's Up?" closing party on Friday, September 17, starting in the morning. Does anybody have any comments on this party and whether it will be a good place to carry-on after Cream? Is there another carry-on for the big Cream closing or will Amnesia stay open later because it is a closing party? any info. would be much appreciated.

That's all we got planned so far as well as renting a car to tour the island and all of it's beautiful beaches. There was also a good thread reviewing restaurants so look for that. Hopefully this thread will flush out some more good tips from the members on this board for the time we are both on holiday.

Take care.

Cheers Swiss Taff!!

Yeah, I had me eye on We love @ Cream alright, just needed a thumbs-up or two (I'm so utterly suggestible)...so excellent.

I wonder would one need to purchase tickets before the day - what say you?

A few of us were in Ibiza in May and the only club that was open then was Pacha - not that I'm complaining! I still had a frickin' excellent time and I'm tempted to only go there for fear other clubs won't be up my street - but I will be strict with my hankering for safe partying. No fear.

Northern Exposure - jesus christmas, you've done your research kiddo! I love organised party people, well done. In May we rented a car too as we were situated in San An. We got to see all of the island, it is luscious. This time round though I ain't gonna be doing that - more clubs are open! And apparently our apartment is right bang in Ibiza town, so bonus.

Thanks a trillion for the replies. I shall inform the troops.

Katch,

Ya, that's classic. I put all this effort into creating the optimum party experience, planning for weeks and such. Wonder what would happen if I applied myself like that to my work......na

ha ha

I'm there from the 13th till the 20th of September and probably gonna do this:

Monday - Circoloco @ DC10 then Cocoon @ Amnesia
Tuesday - Underwater @ Pacha
Wednesday - La Troya @ Amnesia
Thursday - Cream @ Amnesia
Friday - Defected @ El Divino
Saturday - Hed Kandi @ El Divino
Sunday - Sundays @ Space

Hey Fusion!

Thanks a million for your line-up. Although I defo think Groove Armada and Felix deserve me to be dancing to them on Sunday. Only problem is it's AM and PM, so I don't know whether we'll arrive in on time. I reckon what I'll do is print off these replies and bring them to the others holiday-ers to see what their buzz is. I don't know most of them actually so hopefully we'll be into the same stuff music (i'm a house girl).

Yeah I know Northern, I always reckon I'm an organised individual, but I think I suffer from selective organisation. Like I'm just finishing my postgrad now, supposed to be doing my thesis...and hey presto! I join a clubbing forum...it's research I swear.

One of my good friends Trista is Canadian, (Toronto) and she kicks ass. She's so sarcastic it's flipping great. AAAnd two of my very good friends, Kevin and Sean are in Canada (do you know them?). Just playing. Nah, just buttering you up with some nationalistic compliments. I hear good things about you guys. So, don't blame Canada, that's what I say.

Right. That's it. Thesis - brace yourself!

Katch,

Ya, I'm pretty sure I saw Kevin and Sean at the ol' trading post last night. I traded them three beaver pelts and a muskrat for jug of rum and some whale meat to feed the team of wolves that pulls my dogsled across the tundra. Just kidding. And ya, don't blame Canada, or we'll "sorry" you to death (Canadians have a reputation for apologizing for things that are really not in our control, like the frigid weather or the score in the hockey game)

I lived with three Irish types when I was back in school. Seriously funny group they were. Hard working people for most of the week, but when they were done work, out comes the whiskey and the singing and all that. Really good voices though.

Hope all goes well on your trip to Ibiza. I am looking forward to meeting people from many different nationalities and generally behaving in a completely irresponsible fashion.

hey northern exposure:

heh heh. very funny response from a canadian. and the irish people you knew drank whiskey and sang songs??!! jesus, they're a dying breed.

not.

yes, i am sure to enjoy my balearic holiday, and you yours old chum.

later 'gator.

Hey, you really did your research on this board! Unbelievably good programming! Remember to leave your contact so we can meet when we're. I'm looking forward to meeting new friends to party with.

Conrado,

Ya the schedule looks to be shaping up fairly nicely, although we aren't going to be able to take in one of these infamous "Space Sessions" on Sunday as we aren't on the island for one. I tried, but it just couldn't be done as we are on a tour through London, Paris and Barcelona for a week and a half before hitting Ibiza for some serious partying.

So your from Rio? I am a beach lover and Copacabana is on my list of places I just have to get to. I am intrigued by Brazil but must admit I know next to nothing about it (except what I learned about 8 years ago in a course I took on South American History) and that the people seem to be excessively good looking and in generally fantastic shape. Oh yea, I guess there is the odd respectable soccer player from there as well.... ;)

Also- this beer called "Marca Bavaria" (I think from Brazil) is all the rage in Canada this summer (and last). You would be very hard pressed to find a single male in this country that didn't love the wicked advertising campain for the beer. Basically had this guy on a beach peeling the label of a bottle of the beer and this stunning Brazilian goddess is slowly peeling off her clothes at the same time. I swear that everybody in Canada ran out and bought a case of the stuff based on the advertising alone......(including me!)

Going to be at Bora Bora in the afternoon of Tuesday, September 14 unless the weather is poor (which I gather is quite unlikely). Don't have any other contact info. just yet, but I'll work on it.

Take care.

Bavaria is a Brazilian brand that has been bought by a Canadian Brewery (the one that produces Labatt). I have a friend that works for the Bavaria Marketing Department, she flew to Canada Sept 2003 to throw some prommotional parties for the beer.

As for coming to Rio, it's best to do so during our summer, which is from Dec to April. Copacabana is not as good as Ipanema for a beach, and you could see gorgeous women there (amazing bodies).

You can find all the info you need to know on Rio at www.ipanema.com, have fun. Keep in touch so we can arrange to meet in Ibiza.

me again

just wondering, if we arrive in ibiza town at about 9 or 10 on sunday night, would this be too late to go to cream?? (sunday 12th).

reading some of the other shares, people rec. to go in the afternoon...but..well i won't be there.

what do people think?

thanks again guys.

:?

Cream is on Thursdays...

I assume your referring to We Love Sundays at Space. It's not too late, but you'll have missed all the daytime clubbing. If you go to www.ibiza-space.es you'll get the set times. :)

If you like House - try Defected closing party at El Divino.. :)

Thanks Sticky - you're right, i meant Space on Sundays, my bad (spot the newbie... ).

Anyway, thanks for the Defected tip.

Katch
