Weekend Plans

Fri - monthly meet-up of a German frequent flyer forum
Sat - flying to Mallorca (mainly to bid goodbye to the Boeing 757 fleet of Condor Airlines due to be retired next week)
Sun - enjoying Mallorca museums unless the weather forecast improves :(
Mon - flying to Bilbao, a day in Bilbao, flying home in the evening. A direct flight would have been twice as expensive

Sure, but a Monday in Bilbao means missing visiting the Guggenheim once again. Maybe that's the reason tickets via Bilbao were so cheap on a Monday 😅
I went to the Guggenheim by pure chance. We were on a surfing trip to Portugal. There were no waves, so we drove to northern Spain. We happened to spend a night in Bilbao, and had a few hours to kill the next morning. Kinda cool museum. Absolutely worth it, and should be approached on foot from a distance. The surfing was great too.

This weekend I'm in Oslo moving my boat to winter moorings, and covering it up for winter. It's cold, dark and raining. This is the miserable side of boat ownership.

Fri - quiet. Kids club at church, then home - do not pass the pub.

Sat - drive to Birmingham for Legoland. Then spa, evening meal and hotel.

Sun - pool and breakfast. Leave Mrs doing gym/work/wine 😁 Wolverhampton away for son and me.

Aslong as I don't feel like I did after over-celebrating a win against Leeds last Sunday, the weekend will be a success 🥴

Given its history, Bilbao always had a rep as the toughest city in Spain. Whether’s that still true I don’t know, but their football team is certainly unique, only fielding Basque-born players. To get an idea, there’s a series of comedy films which explore regional stereotypes across Spain. The one set in the Basque Country was called ‘10 apellidos vascos’ (Spanish Affair). It’s pretty funny and well worth a watch.

Hectic few weeks. Got back from first visit to new work office in Liverpool Thursday (thoroughly enjoyable) and off to Document tonight.

Way Out West so whilst not with Hernan get a dose of Nick Warren after the Akasha cancellation a couple of weeks ago.

Warren never disappoints

Still in Mexico so all week weekend, but tomorrow is an all dayer featuring ATVs in the jungle, a monkey sanctuary and snorkelling with turtles.

Friday - Xel-Ha natural park, cenotes, coves and general nature bizness

Saturday- Arsenal game is 9am here, so breakfast then that, then pool all day

Sunday - long trip him, land at Birmingham at 7am Monday....desk at home by 10.30 hopefully

Good un hopefully

Fri - lunch at garden centre, know the type - on a river in the countryside where they make more money from food than shrubs 😁 More halloween decorating, trick n treating with school mates, all families went to the local pub then a spooky walk through the woods to a house party with the kids

Sat - U8 football in the rain. Hospitality box for Arsenal game with a two lads, one an Gooner who has flown in from Ibiza. Keep scoreline respectful 🙏 afterwards? Suspect the free beer will result in a long night, heard but not investigated there is a house/tech night in town 😅

Sun - breakfast out with family. Then an exhibition from a designer/artist raised in Burnley, who has designed England kits, CP Company and Stone Island amongst others, in an abandoned theatre. Got keys to a rental which my mother is pecking my head to see. Mother in Laws 70th birthday meal at an Indian 😁

common theme here with my posts but its happening again haha. Had a few drinks but just got home from the arches in glasgow. Slam and Carl Craig, what a f***ing night. Tunes were outstanding. Out with the wife for 7 year anniversary but been together since 2006. shes off to bed so leaves me to jump on this and write things since no one to drink rum with and probably wake up sketching but f*** it. Not been in the arches for years but its only came back last couple of years and was sooo good but now some bowling company have bought it so its pretty much dying after 2025. ( ps thank f*** we still have the sub club). great mix of crowd in there, im 38, but plenty of folk in their 50s/60s but also some early 20s, was outstanding. Did a few laps, front left , back centre and front right at it and every time, it was a different atmosphere but sooo good. halloween parrtyy but alot didnt dress up but i did and had a blast. I guess this post is more of a bit of a rambling since up myself but one thing that stood out was carl craig playing slams positive education, 2 hours after slam had been on and it tore the place apart. Left with 30 to go as wife had a sore back but what a night! until the next post when im blotto, over and out haha

Sounds acers. Positive Education smashes it every time

Easy to forget now but Slam originally brought Daft Punk to Soma BITD. The world might’ve been a very different place!
