Approx 400 of San Antonio's under appreciated workers voted in this years "Ibiza Workers Awards - The Best Of San Antonio in Association with Deuce & Ibiza Travel Shop".

We think the mixed, un biased results reflect the broad cross section of people who chose to vote. Which is in contrast to other awards which take place on the island each year.

If you disagree with any of the winners please feel free to discuss who you think should have won on this thread.

The results (for those of you who missed the Awards party at Funky Flares) are as follows;

1. Best place to chill out in San Antonio
The main contenders in the first category of best place to chill out were
Kumharas
Mambo
Kanya
Bay Bar
………..….and “my bed” !!

2. Best Take Away in San Antonio
A category close to the heart of every San An Worker.
You all seem to think that the following are worth checking out
Vitaminas
Davids Pizzeria
Calis (Kebab kiosk in the middle of West End)
Pensylvanian Burger
Doner King
Kilties

But there can only be one winner which is for the 2nd year running………Vitaminas

3. Best Restaurant in San Antonio
We’ll do this one in reverse order
3rd Villa Mercedes
2nd Jamels
1st Davids Pizzeria


4. Best Local Pub in San Antonio
The top 5 in this category are
The Cat and Parrot
The Ship Inn
Kilties
The Golden Gate
& Kristals

The winner is The Ship Inn

5. Best Pre Club Bar in San Antonio
6 bars received enough votes to deserve a mention
they are in no particular order
Plastik
Hush
Bar M
Kanya
Itaca
Mambo

….and the winner is Bar M

6. Best Club in San Antonio
There are really only 2 true contenders for this award although
Hush
Play2
Extasis
Ground Zero
& Funky Flares all got a handful of votes

The 2 big clubs in San Antonio were neck and neck all the way through the voting but in the end with a lead of just 16 votes Eden takes the prize.

7. Best Sunset Café in San Antonio
There was only ever going to be one winner.
Kumharas, Sunsea and Savannah were all worthy candidates with Kanya putting up the only serious challenge…

…but this years winner by a long way goes to Mambo

8. Best Club night in San Antonio
There were 4 nights streets ahead of the rest in the voting for this category. They are

Do we really need to announce this one?
Well done to Electric Sex and Kissdafunk for racking up a more than acceptable number of votes.

2 Many DJs? In Ibiza everyman and his dog’s a DJ but who, in the opinion of the workers of 2006 is the best.

However as we can’t give you all an award we will give it to the 2nd place person, or should that be persons…

The sexiest people in San Antonio are Laura & Louise the Sexy Scottish Twins from Hush

13. Survivor Through Adversity Award
We know a lot of you had trouble with this one. Basically it means anyone who has had loads of bad luck but they are still here and still smiling.
“me” did very well again and actually recorded the most amount of votes. But ignoring that…

14. Hardet Worker in San Antonio
Dexter & Loco joint 3rd
“me” came 2nd

But without any doubt you all think the person who works the hardest in San Antonio is…. Kris (with A K) Bojang from Es Paradis

Just dawned on me I havent been down the west end for 9 years. Damn thats flown. And far too long. Gotta get one last mooch about for old times sake this year or next if i can get over.

Spent a bit of time in 06 and 07 with Sam , shes gone on to great things, fair play to her shes absolutely sound. Hush was on fire those years. wasnt it called Rumours, before Hush?!

It was very often rammed IIRC, half of the people in there workers, not spending money, but I always assumed they made it busy enough for walk-up tourists to stick.
