The third edition of Ibiza Roots Festivalreturns to the walled city of Dalt Vila to present some of the most recognised international artists. A proposal that also includes dance, theatre, visual arts and a selection of world food market.

Ibiza, 15th June 2015 (Toga Media).- Thursday June 25 will be the kick off of Ibiza Roots Festival 2015 summer season. The opening will take place in Baluarte Santa Lucía, in the open air venue of Dalt Vila, one of the most charming spots of the Island.

Doors will open at 8pm with a superb line up that includes live music from Balkan Beat Box, Onda Vaga and Nima & Supermads.

Balkan Beat Box, the acclaimed formation from Brooklyn was founded by Ori Kaplan’s (Gogol Bordello), and has its well anchored roots that go from Europe to the Middle East. Their music contains both Eastern and gypsy influences. A reminiscent of Emir Kusturica and Goran Bregovic, tinged with elements of hip-hop and dancehall. The strength, energy and the combination of styles, transform Balkan Beat Box in one of the leader bands of the world music circuit and their shows have become a legend.

The Argentines Onda Vaga add to the festival a mixture of rumba, cumbia, reggae, folk, rock and tango. This cheerful quintet has crossed all borders spreading happiness to millions of people around the world, thus obtaining the admiration and recognition of Manu Chao, David Byrne (Talking Heads), Andres Calamaro and Fito Paez, among others. Between 2010 and 2014 they did five tours around Europe and have been called to perform in the most recognised festivals: BBK Live, Festival Viva La Canción, Festival PortAmérica, Festival Lasem, Festival de cine de Biarritz and Primavera Pro. They also gained high recognition at the Fuji Rock (Japan), Vive Latino in Mexico, Lolapallooza (Chile and Argentina) and Selvamonos (Perú).

Nima & Supermads, one of the most prominent bands of Ibiza will be opening the curtain. For more than 5 years they have been combining psychedelic elements, male voice and ethnic female choirs with electronic elements, guitars, bass and percussion.

Do not miss the opening of the Ibiza Roots Festival on Thursday 25th June in Dalt Vila, Ibiza’s World Heritage site. hats off to the organization for having the balls the put on gigs like this. apart from all the events they do in ibiza this year, they also do two in mallorca... bravo!

Jarabe de Palo arrives at Ibiza Roots Festival!

The legendary Spanish band, with almost 20 years of trajectory, lands in the Island next Thursday July 9th to give a unique concert that will review all their greatest hits: 'La Flaca', 'Depende', 'Grita', 'Bonito', 'El Lado Oscuro' y ‘Agua’, amongst others.

Singer-songwriter Pau Donés and his group have received 16 deserved Latin Grammy nominations over the years, including three for their ninth and latest album‘Somos’, that they have been presenting around the USA, Latin America and Europe since their release in 2014.

Diana Fuentes, the emerging voice of Cuban music, will be sharing stage with them. Eclectic, melodic and irresistible, she is one of the most prolific artists of her generation.

Her second album, ‘Planeta Planetario’, that was a joint artistic collaboration with renowned Puerto Rican musician and producer, Eduardo Cabra (Visitante), member of Calle 13 has been be an important step for Diana Fuentes to gain recognition internationally.

Her music has a unique magic that exudes a selection of Afro-Cuban rhythms fused with sounds of pop, Jamaican dance, electronic music, hip hop, bolero and other genres.

Nathunal Solanki & Sakapuntas, Master Nagara Drums from Rajasthan will be opening the curtain to this summer’s second edition of Ibiza Roots Festival 2015. The prestigious dancer Marta Chandra will be performing accompanying with traditional Kalbelia dance, from this same region.

Come and enjoy the best selection of world music sounds in the magical setting of Dalt Vila, the best preserved Fortress of the Mediterranean. Families are welcome and children under 10 get in for free!

Ibiza, 27 julio 2015 (Toga Media).- The summer festival is here! Ibiza Roots Festival is proud to announce a top line upfor its third edition of this season 2015. The show will include the best Reggae Roots band of the moment, Groundation, from California; Mala Rodríguez with all her flow and power, and from Mali, BKO Quintet, all of who will perform together on this unmissable date which takes place next Monday, August 3rd at Ibiza´s Recinto Ferial.

Groundation recovers the sounds of Jamaica from the 70´s and 80´s and combines them beautifully with the best jazz, funk and dub.

The band is made up by 10 artists who convey an universal message of peace, reclaiming this way the universal legacy left behind by Jamaican music legends the likes of Bob Marley and Pete Tosh.

The legendary band from California, with almost 20 years of experience, continues playing in front of hundreds of thousands of fans who attend their shows around the world. They also headline the world´s most prestigious World Music, Jazz and Reggae festivals such as Womad, Rototom Sunsplash and the Montreux Jazz Festival, amongst others.

Mala Rodríguez has become the most respected female artist in the hip-hop scene thanks to her unique style, scenic force and powerful and poetic lyrics.

Some of her hits such as ‘Tengo lo que tu quieres’ , ‘Quien Manda’, ‘Por La Noche’, ‘Lluvia’, ‘Tengo un trato’ or ‘Nanai’, have managed to leave a mark on a wide and varied audience.

Mala Rodríguez hasn´t stopped since the beginning of her career over 20 years ago, alongside which she´s won many awards, including Grammys and MTV awards.

BKO Quintet offers a musical journey to the contemporary heart of Mali, which makes them one of the most interesting and recognised bands from their country.

Their latest DVD ‘BKO On Air’ was nominated at Womex 2014, the most important world music trade show in the world. Their live shows stand out for their powerful drums and a rather energetic stage presence.
