Mid-july already + the fact that Zane Lowe draws big crowds = busy busy busy!
Fenech-Soler (one of the many bands on this year's line-up that also played at Glastonbury some weeks ago) were first on stage with their synth fuelled electro pop. They played most songs from their self-titled debut album, including the initial "Battlefields", "Demons", "Lies" or the final "Stop and stare" to name a few. Their songs keep growing on me and I like 'em even more after seeing them live... sooo good!
This week also saw the debut of Jaymo & Andy George at Ibiza Rocks, although they already played in the hotel at last year's Radio 1 free event. The energy from the crowd was incredible and they didn't disappoint!
The multi-talented Mark Ronson (who haven't played for Ibiza Rocks since 2007) and Zane Lowe returned, this time to show their mixing skills back to back. With an amazing interaction with the crowd, they delivered an energetic set with a nice and eclectic selection of tunes, from the expected ("Valerie") to the surprising ("Ring of fire"). Another great night at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel that ended up with some people jumping in the pool!
Afterwards I popped in the private after party for a quick drink and, as usual, left various hours later. Anyway, Biffy Clyro next week... need I say more? My most highly anticipated concert of the summer!
Favourite moment: "Lies" by Fenech-Soler
