Back for another dose of Ibiza Rocks with last week's brilliant opening party still fresh in my memory. Last night warming up for the two guest acts not only the ressies Doorly and Nicola Bear but also Union DJs and their banging beats!
I started listening Detroit Social Club properly thanks to Ibiza Rocks after they were announced to play in our fave hotel and since then they became a regular on my stereo. I loved their album so I was looking forward to see how that big melting pot of sounds (something like The Verve jamming with Beck) would sound like live. Much harder than on CD, the six-piece band played most songs from their fantastic debut album... a grrreat start of the evening!
Seems like Ian Brown, who was spotted at Pacha on monday, brought the Manchester weather with him although luckily it finally didn't rain. Instead of the usual 60 minutes for the main act, the godlike genius played during 80 minutes a selection of songs from his solo albums plus "I wanna be adored" (with which he started) and "Fools gold" (the first encore) from the Stone Roses. A privilege to have a legend like him playing in Ibiza... now, can we have Primal Scream next year?!
Top night with people of all ages in attendance. Next week we have the return of The Courteeners presenting their new album so if I was you I wouldn't miss it...
Favourite moment of the night: meeting mr Brown after the concert!
