7.00pm and the queue outside goes round the corner. Can we buy tickets? various people ask... sorry, it's sold out is the answer I hear a few times. The doors finally open and the hall of the hotel is busier than ever before. What's happening tonight then? Yep... after last week's birthday celebrations with the apotheosic concert of The Prodigy, time to welcome back Dizzee Rascal!

After the ressie Nicola Bear, the 21 year old half-Iranian/half-British dj Yasmin was in charge of warming up the audience and boy, she did it well!

By the time the up and coming Smurfie Syco, signed to Dizzee Rascal's record label
Dirtee Stank, started the venue was super busy already. His show included a cover of Kings Of Leon's "Sex on fire" and later he joined Dizzee on stage to do some songs together!

At the same time Doorly was doing (for the first time ever) his session prior to the main act on the stage instead of in the dj booth, there was still people queueing outside to get in!

Double whammy this week with Dizzee Rascal doing
Mallorca Rocks on monday and Ibiza Rocks on tuesday... both sold out. As expected after what happened the two previous times he played for Ibiza Rocks, the most crowded gig of the season and probably the most festive atmosphere too which proves to all the haters out there, once again, not only that there's space for hip hop in Ibiza but also that it has a big following. We heard all the hits from his four albums and everybody was dancing non-stop... even in the VIP they had to remove all the sofas and tables to have extra space so people could go bonkers!

An absolutely fun-tastic night. The fun continues next week with Chase & Status and Tinie Tempah!

Favourite moment of the night: Dizzee's earth shaking rendition of "Bonkers" with a confetti cannon firing across the dance floor for a sparkling finale!

Get your tickets for Chase & Status / Tinie Tempah here.

Couldnt think of anything worse than being at that, each to their own though i suppose. Id much rather be at sands bar for mumu then at space for carl cox on a tuesday night. Fair play though, seems to be a big following

funny you said that because jason, the owner of sands, prefered to spend the evening at ibiza rocks instead of being at mumu ! !

Thats madness!!! , your telling me the owner of Sands actually doesnt spend every single night of the summer in his own bar? ...........Surely not?

Even in comparison to The Prodigy last week the buzz and anticipation in the air for Dizzee was the best I've ever seen. The whole show was just .... welllll Bonkers!

He even tailored his set to the Ibiza crowd, adding in 2 of the summers biggest club anthems ("Pon de floor" by Major Lazer and "One" by the Swedish House Mafia) which both obviously sent everyone mental!!

Before the gig, MTV's Laura Whitmore crowd surfed from one end of the venue to the other - All to a silent crowd, Laura was recording a piece for MTV at Ibiza Rocks, which will be shown across MTV on Friday 13th August at 9pm.
