Dizzee Rascal was back to the Ibiza Rocks Hotel for a special saturday one-off gig (one of his rare festival appearances this summer actually)... fun guaranteed for a nearly sold out show!
The lovely Nicola Bear was not only warming up before the support act this time but also before the headliner as last night mash-up master Doorly was djing at the Camp Festival in Dorset (with plenty of Ibiza Rocks favourites in its line-up)!
The old school hip hop duo Rizzle Kicks presented various of the songs that will appear on their debut album, including the singles "Prophet (better watch it)" and "Down with the trumpets", and covered Jessie J's "Price tag" (apart from bits from lots of different tunes). A very entertaining show that ended up with everybody singing happy birthday to one of the members of the band that accompanies the young duo!
Dizzee Rascal offered another memorable show with a similar setlist to last year's, featuring the singles from his last album and various from his previous three plus "Heavy" (the song he did with Chase & Status) and "You've got the dirtee love". Amazing night that continued at the Ibiza Rocks House till very late...
After the double dose of rap artists that we had this week, time for Chase & Status next wednesday... one of the dates I'm looking forward the most!
Favourite moment: Dizzee's old stuff like "Fix up, look sharp", "Just a rascal", etc
