Ibiza Rocks has been on an incredible, passion-fuelled rollercoaster of a ride through the Balearics for the past decade and the groundbreaking brand will celebrate with a line up that reflects the renegade journey, welcoming true festival giants and the best of the new breed. Rocks proudly announces the special 10th birthday show will be headlined by The Libertines. Other acts confirmed for the 14-week series of starlit summer shows include Grammy Award winners Clean Bandit, 2014 Mercury Prize nominees Jungle, 2015's breakout band and BBC Sound Of winners Years & Years, DJ & Producer legend Fatboy Slim, festival giants The Courteeners and master Drum and Bass duo Sigma.
Since launching in 2005, Ibiza Rocks has quite simply destroyed preconceptions of Ibiza by bringing live music and fresh energy to the White Isle. Rocks changed the game in a dance-fuelled world and continue to lead the way for live music in Ibiza.
Cult heroes and music icons to a generation, The Libertines, will headline the world famous poolside Rocks stage for the hugely anticipated 10th Birthday Party. Pete Doherty and Carl Barat have individually influenced Rocks, having played separately with Babyshambles (2005) and Dirty Pretty Things (2006) at the very start. It was Pete’s decision to play the 500 capacity beachside Bar M (now Ibiza Rocks Bar) that took the Rocks gigs from the dark back room of the big club to the open-air beach side setting. Recently announced as headliners of T in the Park, this will be rare opportunity for fans to see this massive festival headliner in a truly unique and intimate setting.

The strange and debauched energy of the place never fails to provide the perfect backdrop for bacchanalian reverie of the highest order. Everyone there is gonna be 'mad for it', I can't wait. Kicking off the sun-drenched summer is a band that is seriously hot property right now. BRIT nominees and crowning champions of the BBC Sound of 2015 Years & Years have just sold out two headline dates at the acclaimed Shepherd's Bush Empire and will make their Ibiza Rocks debut when they headline the coveted Opening Party gig on 17th June. Talking of the shows, Years & Years said:"We can't wait to play Ibiza! We're looking forward to bringing the castanets back to the Balearics.”
Closing the 10th Birthday Party celebrations are bonafide Rocks stars The Courteeners. The Manchester four piece sold out their forthcoming 20’000 capacity headline Heaton Park show in under an hour and are guaranteed to whip the 2’500 strong crowd into a rock ‘n’ roll frenzy at they bring Ibiza Rocks 10th Birthday celebrations to a very fitting finale.
Long time friend and supporter of Rocks is none other than the legend we know and love as Fatboy Slim. A true pioneering force in the music world, Fatboy Slim put on one of the stand out shows of last summer when he brought the house down with his ‘East, Sleep, Rave, Repeat’ live show at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel. With a brand new show in the making, this is set to be another phenomenal live production.
Jungle released their self-titled album to mass critical acclaim last summer and have fast become a ‘must see’ on the live scene. The thrilling seven piece live show showcases the mesmeric, kaleidoscopic modern soul that’s been unmistakably born in the UK but has true global appeal. Supported by fast-rising solo female star Shura, a special show awaits.
Tom from Jungle commented: "Growing up you read about Ibiza Rocks and its like the pinnacle for a band, one of the coolest things you can do, to get out there and play in the sunshine. We're just really looking forward to getting out there."
Fresh from booking Clean Bandit for the inaugural Ibiza Rocks the Snow in December 2013, the Cambridge based collective went on to score their first No.1 in January last year with their now Grammy Award winning single ‘Rather Be.’ Having also played Ibiza Rocks last summer, Rocks has real love for this mesmorising four-piece and the feeling is mutual says Grace, “We love Ibiza Rocks a lot. We always have the best time there and can't wait to play again."
Rocks started out to bring live music to rock kids who wanted to dance and dance kids who wanted to rock. Sigma is a classic example of a live act that can do just that. The Leeds duo smashed the charts last year with huge No.1 singles ‘Bound 2’ and ‘Changing’ feat. Paloma Faith. With a brand new live show, Sigma said:"So excited to be headlining Ibiza Rocks this year. It's a really fun venue and bringing our new live show to Ibiza will be pretty special!"
MTV has revealed that it will be the exclusive broadcast partner for Ibiza Rocks for the third year running. The network plans to broadcast a number of exclusive artist interviews, live performances and all the highlights from the 14-week long series from the Ibiza Rocks Hotel this summer. As with both years previously, London based production company JJ Stereo will produce all the content, which will be hosted by Laura Whitmore.
The Ibiza Rocks brand consistently boasts a bill crammed with the biggest international artists, best breakthrough talent and cutting edge DJs. Summer 2015 will see the celebration of Ibiza Rocks 10th Birthday during the 14 weeklong season of spectacular outdoor gigs. This summer Ibiza Rocks will celebrate ten incredible and hugely influential years on the White Isle with a line up that brings together festival giants, music icons and the very best of the new breed of rising stars. New additions include Rudimental, Catfish & The Bottlemen and Spandau Ballet who will proudly return to play Ibiza for the first time since 1981 when they pioneered an electronic music revolution. Supports come from hotly tipped new talents Shura, Slaves, Krept & Konan, Blonde, Karen Harding and Sam Sure.
Since playing Rocks in support of Jake Bugg last summer, Llandudno lads Catfish & the Bottlemen have gone on to win the BBC Introducing Award at the very first BBC Music Awards, released their debut album ‘The Balcony’ to mass critical acclaim and chalked up a sold out tour in the US. Currently carving their way through their second sold out headline tour of the UK, the band also announced two Brixton Academy shows for November, which sold out in 6 minutes. Widely hailed as Britains next great guitar band Catfish & the Bottlemen will make a heroic return to the famous poolside Rocks stage as headliners on 15th July, for one of the most highly anticipated live shows in the Balearics.
Another sensational live act returning to the world-famous Rocks stage this summer is Best Album BRIT Award winners Rudimental. Rocks championed Rudimental long before they hit the big time and booked their debut Ibiza show in 2012 at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel where they stayed, partied and played, big time! It will be a proud moment to have these boys back to headline on 29th July, for what will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the 14 week long season from one of the best live acts on the planet right now.

Ibiza Rocks is a lovely story for us, we saw Dizzee Rascal at Ibiza Rocks when on holiday there and then a year later Feel The Love happened and we DJ'd with Disclosure and Zane Lowe and then played live last year which was one of the best nights of our summer. There’s such history there for us. It’s always such a good vibe and the idea to do a party in a hotel is just brilliant. As soon as we finish a gig at Ibiza Rocks, we just want to get in the crowd and party with everyone. We’re part of that culture so we want to rave as well. Ibiza Rocks, we love you. Rudimental are coming for you!!"
Hot on the heels of announcing The Libertines to headline Ibiza Rocks 10th Birthday Party in July, another truly iconic British band that provided the soundtrack to a generation are reunited and ready to return to Ibiza. Spandau Ballet have sold over 25 million records and amassed 23 hit singles across the globe since the late 70s. From fully-fledged members of the iconic Blitz Club scene to one of the super-groups of the 80s, the band spearheaded the New Romantic pop culture movement born out of the nightclub scene. One of the most significant gigs of Spandau Ballet’s career was in 1981 at Ibiza’s very own Ku Club (now Privilege), chosen by the band simply because it was billed as the most outrageous club in the world.
Unlike any band before them, Spandau completely understood the currency of the dancefloor and the significance of playing in Ibiza at a time when the clubs were purely packed with Spanish hipsters completely unaware of the London fashionistas about to blow their minds and make their mark, both culturally and musically. This groundbreaking trip bridged the gap between the Ibiza and London club scenes and Spandau Ballet opened Ibiza’s doors to a UK audience with one incredible, inspirational and influential gig that was to change Ibiza’s music landscape forever. After more than 30 years since that monumental moment, Ibiza Rocks is proud to bring Spandau Ballet back to the Balearics for a very special headline show under the stars on 19th August. We took over some of our London friends, before us no British people went to these clubs and that was when the conversation between the two nightlife’s began and Ibiza club culture was born. We're really looking forward to going back and playing Ibiza Rocks"

One of the most genuinely exciting bands that fit that bill are acclaimed punk duo Slaves who will support The Libertines at the hugely anticipated 10th Birthday Party. Bristol duo Blonde, who already boast a No.7 hit single with ‘I Loved You’ will be the very first act of the summer to take to the stage, supporting Years & Years at the Opening Party. MTV Brand New 2015 ‘Best Newcomer‘ winners Krept & Konan will support Sigma whilst Black Butter Records’ bonafide ‘one to watch’Sam Sure will support Rudimental. Karen Harding may be a fresh face on the scene but has already scored a Top 10 single with her MNEK-produced ‘Say Something.’ Karen will support Clean Bandit this summer whist fellow fast-rising female singer/producer and BBC Sound of 2015 nominee Shura will support Jungle. Ibiza Rocks is the home of live music in Ibiza. Since invading the island of dance in 2005 Ibiza Rocks has quite simply destroyed preconceptions of Ibiza and continues to do so as the most forward-thinking, risk-taking, rule defying live music promoter on the island – the ONLY promoter to bring hip hop heroes De La Soul and global hit-machine Mark Ronson to perform exclusive shows under the Balearic stars.
Mark Ronson has been on Rocks’ rollercoaster ride from the start, mixing it up between shows with his full live band and DJing as A-YO with his partner in crime and fellow Rocks champion Zane Lowe. Following stratospheric success with global smash hit ‘Uptown Funk’ Mark’s status as a musician and producer has further soared. As a musical genius who grew up in the golden era of hip hop, but with a huge passion for guitars, Mark Ronson is not only the perfect fit for Rocks, he’s a true friend who will be welcomed back home on 9th September at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel, bringing with him an exciting new live talent to showcase under the stars. This show will also feature sets from cutting-edge East London party crew Shorebitch, infamous for creating London’s most unforgettable underground parties.
Mark Ronson said:“I’ve been playing Ibiza Rocks since 2006, that crew is like family to me. It’s been the site of some of my favourite gigs ever--either with the band or DJing with my brother, Zane Lowe.I can’t wait to be playing back there this summer.”
Following a ground-breaking hip-hop gig last summer with NAS, who performed his 1994 debut Illmatic in its entirety, Rocks is proudly bringing another hip-hop act of iconic status to the famous Rocks stage. De La Soul created a hip-hop masterpiece with their game-changing 1989 debut album ‘3 Feet high and rising’ - the Prince Paul collaboration that gave us ‘Me Myself and I’ “The Magic Number’ and so much more. Over 25 years later, this album is still citied as one of the best albums of all time and THE best rap album of all time. From groundbreaking past hits to their 2006 Grammy award winning Gorillaz collaboration “Feel Good Inc’, De La Soul have not only survived 3 decades in the music industry, they’ve inspired and influenced 3 decades of musicians, critics and fans alike. BBC 6 Music’s DJ Yoda will support De La Soul with a special ’40 years of hip hop’ audio visual set, bringing with him a wealth of heritage whilst Ibiza resident turned UK hip hop social media sensation Harley Maxwell will represent the new element of the UK scene with tracks from his ‘Summer Days’ EP written in and inspired by Ibiza. Topping things off will be London’s old school hip-hop crew, Applebum. This show will provide another seminal music moment for Ibiza when De La Soul make 12th August the magic number at Ibiza Rocks.
