just thought we’d drop you a line to clear up any doubts you may have about whats happening at the hotel, specifically regarding the clientele we’re expecting.
Firstly you’ll probably know the hotel was formerly the Club Paraiso which was a 100% Thomson guaranteed property full of Freestyle customers. Since Thomson merged with First Choice, owner of 2wentys they have taken an allocation at the hotel PRIOR to Ibiza Rocks doing the deal with the hotel owners to create the Ibiza Rocks Hotel brand. This is why you are seeing the hotel on sale on their websites.
We have a strong relationship with Thomson group which we are looking forward to developing over the next 12 months but we will also be heavily focused on our own direct sales at http://www.ibizarockshotel.com. We are taking bookings online now and the full site will be available in mid February.
The hotel officially opens on 31st May with a very special guest with the season kicking into full swing around 16th June.

"The outdoor live elements will be over by 11pm when the action will move indoors to the back stage bar. Throughout the summer acoustic sets will happen around the pool and full live bands will be appearing in our indoor live music venue"

Hotel residents will have priority access to shows over non residents with all visitors being required to sign up for an Ibiza rocks hotel membership at reception.

El grupo ibicenco que se define como de estilo «garaje psicodelia» Peter Colours será el encargado de inaugurar el próximo 31 de mayo el ciclo de conciertos Ibiza Rocks que se organiza desde 2005. El estreno junto al grupo británico The Enemy será en el Hotel Ibiza Rocks, en Sant Antoni, y será el primero de por lo menos trece conciertos más en los que estarán presentes las bandas de rock más potentes. Este es el único concierto que tiene fijado el lugar ya que el resto de la programación depende de los detalles que la organización está todavía cerrando. Aunque Peter Colours lleva vinculado a la organización del Ibiza Rocks desde sus inicios, es la primera vez que actúa en este ciclo.
El resto de las actuaciones tendrán lugar una vez por semana, los martes, entre el 17 de junio y el 9 de septiembre. El primer grupo será The Pigeon Detectives, una formación que a pesar de tener un sello independiente ha logrado situarse en el número 3 de las listas británicas. Otras bandas como The Fratellis, The Kooks, Wombats, We are Scientist o Kasabian, también actuarán en Eivissa, según anunciaron ayer fuentes de la organización.

Peter Colours en Liverpool
El grupo ibicenco Peter Colours viaja este fin de semana a Liverpool, donde el próximo lunes ofrecerán dos conciertos en el International Pop Overthrow Festival. Además, este mes protagonizan una entrevista de casi media página en la revista Ruta 66.

Hotel Resident Bands, DJs and Full Summer Programme Announced!


Since we began we've always been interested in bringing you the best new talent as well as the biggest names. So the residency is something we feel really excited about - especially with the line up we've got. What better than live music and great DJs every night in our Electric Bar?

May 18 - June 14: Hungover Stuntmen
May 31 - June 30: Underground Heroes
July 1 - July 31: OK Tokyo
August 2 - August 15: The Clik Clik
August 25 - ­ August 31: The Holloways

Joining them on the decks will be our monthly resident DJs:

June: Martin Doorly, a rapidly rising star who has already spun his own Essential Mix live on Radio 1 this year.

July: Last year's ressies Gash DJs will return for a full month of action - so you know you will be in good hands.

August: Rounding off the season will be Cassette Jam who went down a storm last year - expect mash-ups, cut-ups and everything inbetween.



FINALLY... THE DAY-TO-DAY LINE UP!

MONDAYS - GIGGLING GUIRI COMEDY NIGHT HOSTED BY MIKE KEAT AKA. MIKE CUBAN! (kicks off June 23)

Madrid and Barcelona's famous English language comedy night comes to Ibiza. Things kick off on June 23 with if.comedy (formerly Perrier) Award winner Phil Nichol:

June 23 - ­ Phil Nichol ­ "The most blood-vessel-busting solo spectacle you're likely to see," according to his rave reviews.

June 30 - The Hottest property on the comedy circuit right now: Glenn Wool.

July 7 - Arj Barker, better known as Dave from Flight of the Conchords.

As if that wasn't enough, Mike Keat (and his cast of characters including Barry Peters) will be the master of ceremonies for many of the summer's Ibiza Rocks events - so look out for varying degrees of hosting, MCing, DJing and naked breakdancing - just another day at the office for those Cuban Brothers!


TUESDAYS - IBIZA ROCKS AFTER PARTY - RECLAIM THE DANCEFLOOR! (kicking off June 17)

Head poolside for the Ibiza Rocks warm up session to catch impromptu acoustic sets and guest DJs. The Hotel will also host the official Ibiza Rocks aftershow party - Reclaim The Dancefloor! Award winning Steve Aoki, who stole the show in the Global Room at Pacha last year, will play the best dancefloor indie alongside Junior Sanchez, Gash DJs, Cassette Jam and more to come.

THURSDAYS - CLUB NME (kicking off June 19)

Having had a lie-in on Wednesday to recover, prepare yourself and get ready for the arrival of Club NME at Ibiza Rocks. The night speaks for itself, but expect the best in indie anthems, old and new, with live bands and surprise guest DJs.

FRIDAYS - MANUMISSION POOL PARTY!

The mother of all pool parties, as Manumission takes over on Friday for the Manumission Pool Party.

SATURDAYS - ROCK NIGHTS!

Rock Nights will quite literally rock the hotel foundations with live music and DJs on regular Saturday nights. Opening on June 14 is hot new band Underground Heroes and DJ sets from Colin Peters, Daisy Heartbreaker, Marcos Torres and Ben Demiedo.

The Enemy played the first Ibiza Rocks gig of 2008 last night (May 31) at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel on the Balearic island.

Tom Clarke and co played on an outside stage in the hotel courtyard, next to a swimming pool and a teeming bar. Earlier in the day bassist Andy Hopkins had enjoyed a swim and a game of catch in the pool, much to the delight of nearby fans.

Prior to The Enemy’s set rain fell down heavily while support band Underground Heroes played, but the weather cleared up in time for the headline band’s show.

“Welcome to the best hotel in the world,” frontman Tom Clarke said before leading his band through a set including ’40 Days And 40 Nights’, ’You’re Not Alone’ and ’Happy Birthday Jane’.

The Enemy included new song, ’Sing When You’re In Love (Sing When You’re Out Of Love’ during the set.

The show was rapturously received by the crowd, who cheered and sang along to the words loudly. After set closer ’Away From Here’ the band headed out to the bar to join in the party.

“This is a great gig,” Clarke told NME.COM. “Some gigs feel a bit like work, some are fun – and this one was definitely on the fun scale of things.”
