The Ibiza Rocks Bar is now open for another scorching summer season of live music, nightly pre-parties, one-off exclusive stand-up comedy shows, high quality diner food, delicious drinks and more, in what is undoubtedly its best events schedule yet.
Perfectly positioned on the San Antonio beachfront and with pre-parties hosted by the UK and Ibiza’s leading clubbing brands including Pacha, Cream, Together, Es Paradis and Amnesia, the bar is this summer’s go-to destination for the hottest pre-club experience on the island. The bar’s intimate setting teamed with a host of star DJs and performers making surprise appearances throughout the summer means it’s one of the best places on the island to see sets from top talent visiting the White Isle.
Last year alone saw Zane Lowe, Martin Garrix, 2manydjs, Pendulum, Chase and Status, MistaJam and Shy FX join the long list of A-list acts, which includes Skrillex, Calvin Harris and Annie Mac, to have played sets to a packed crowd at the bar. The likes of Disclosure, Jake Bugg, Example, Rizzle Kicks and Bastille all dropped by last season to join revellers on the neon dancefloor and Miles Kane performed a stunning free acoustic gig. Summer 2014 will see much more of the same.
The bar’s weekly schedule will kick off with the official Ibiza Rocks House at Pacha Ibiza pre-party on Mondays – the perfect warm-up to this brand new night at the world’s most decadent club – with a line-up including Basement Jaxx, Groove Armada, 2manydjs, Derrick Carter and Giorgio Moroder. On Tuesdays the bar will host the official pre-party for Amnesia’s hugely popular Together while on Wednesdays it goes back to its roots for all the rock ‘n’ roll excess that’s guaranteed at the after-party for the Ibiza Rocks shows before gig-goers continue the party at
Es Paradis.
UK superclub brand Cream will return on Thursdays to bring the official pre-party to its longstanding nights at Amnesia with tickets available to buy from the bar with free coach travel to the main event included. On Fridays, meanwhile, the W.A.R! after-party is back after last year’s legendary debut events with superstar guests and friends of the W.A.R! family stopping by and possibly spinning a record or two. A-list acts on this year’s W.A.R! line-up include Zane Lowe, Mark Ronson, 2manydjs, Fatboy Slim, Gorgon City, Example, DJ Wire, Bondax, Doorly and DJ Fresh.
At the weekends Ibiza Rocks’ resident DJ Patrick Nazemi will hit the decks for Propaganda playing an eclectic set on Saturday nights, while on Sundays Rockaoake is back and guests will get the chance to sing alongside live musicians on the same stage where the likes of the Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian have played, with big prizes up for grabs for the best performances. Singers will follow in the footsteps of Kaiser Chiefs' frontman Ricky Wilson who went down in bar history with his impromptu rendition of I Predict A Riot with the Rockaoake band during a night out.
There’s live music at the Ibiza Rocks Bar every night starting from 10pm with our resident DJs Danny Beck and Patrick Nazemi, and one-off big name artist acoustic events, as well as a new, sharper, 3m x 4m high definition LED screen – the largest on the island – to watch this summer’s World Cup matches live from Brazil in the bar.
On 7th July, award-winning British comedian Russell Kane will perform an exclusive stand-up show – bringing comedy to the Ibiza Rocks Bar for the first time. Russell Kane said: “So excited to be gigging in Ibiza - I’m throwing more shapes than a Geometry teacher on speed.”
The London-born comic and TV personality exploded onto the stand-up scene in 2003 with his energetic brand of comedy and is now firmly established as one of the best comics in the UK today. Russell completes sell-out stand-up tours each year, which have won critical acclaim, and has scooped two of the industry’s most prestigious awards – the Edinburgh Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Festival in 2010 (he was also nominated in 2009), and Australia’s Barry Award in 2011. Comedy aside, Russell is a regular on TV shows such as Live At The Apollo, 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Celebrity Juice. He has also written a play that was staged at the Royal Shakespeare Company and has penned his debut novel, The Humorist. This is a chance for fans to see this huge talent in an intimate setting.
The Ibiza Rocks Bar first opened in 2010 and has quickly built up a reputation as one of San Antonio’s must-visit venues thanks to its programme of music and entertainment, as well as its delicious menu, which includes a wide selection of scrumptious breakfasts, tasty snacks, wholesome meals, thirst-quenching drinks and fabulous cocktails – served morning, day and night. Food favourites such as the Ibiza Rocks whisky-glazed baby back ribs, the juicy M burger with mozzarella cheese, fresh basil and sun-blushed tomatoes, and the grilled chicken pitta with tangy slaw are all back.
The Ibiza Rocks Bar opens from 2nd May until 1st October open daily from 11am to 4am with food served between 11am and 11pm. The bar is the official ticket outlet for all of its pre-parties and will also sell tickets for all other club nights on the island at the best prices. Additionally, diners at the bar will receive a 10% discount off any clothing item at the bar shop on presentation of their food bill. Discount valid only on the same day as food order.
Sister establishment the Ibiza Rocks Diner in Playa d’en Bossa will also open for its third year this summer on 23rd May. With a similar focus on quality food and drinks, the diner will have something to suit every taste with a mouth-watering menu of flavoursome food, all freshly prepared on-site. For drinks, guests can sample fresh fruit drinks, milkshakes, smoothies and cocktails all to be enjoyed in a cool, contemporary setting.
Summer in San Antonio just got a whole lot hotter.
