Ibiza Rocks Bar Opening with Johnny Borrell

Last summer we revamped and renamed Bar M - home of the legendary original Ibiza Rocks shows - the Ibiza Rocks Bar. We wanted to do something a little different, something that suited the intimate atmosphere and so brought Pete Doherty over for a one off solo show. It was a brilliant way to kick off a great summer for the bar.
This year we're continuing that theme and bringing over none other that Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell for a rare and exclusive solo show.
He´ll the treading in the footsteps of some legendary musicians including Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Editors and Kaiser Chiefs who have all played the intimate venue since it launched Ibiza Rocks in 2005.
So expect some fireworks and who knows, maybe even a sneak preview of the new Razorlight material.

After watching how FC Barcelona bitch slapped Manchester United on the big screen and the warm up session by Adam Daniels (Ibiza Rocks Bar resident), Johnny Borrell came onstage at midnight. His 45-minute set included various Razorlight classics (I missed "Wire to wire" but hey, you can't always have what you want) and also some new song... loved it!
Then off to the invite-only after-party, where I had the chance to meet the singer and have a wee chat with him...

A couple of years ago, in the basement of a church hall somewhere in London, we got drunk and accidentally invented a new form of bingo. It was hardcore. It made us feel good. But it was naughty. We weren't supposed to be there, in the basement, and we definitely weren't supposed to be experimenting with bingo. We called it The Rebel Bingo Club.
Since that day, word has spread, and our numbers have grown. We now have groups of hardcore followers across the UK, Spain, New York and Los Angeles. It's not just a party anymore. It's a revolution. The old skool bingo community heard depraved tales of their meetings - and they are not happy. They feel we are desecrating their boring old game. They want to shut us down. They are old, angry, influential and ruthless - like an OAP mafia. So, we have to keep our operations on the on the down low. But now The Underground Rebel Bingo Club has finally found a safe haven. Somewhere we can do what we want to do, away from the haters. We're coming to the party capital of the world, where we are free to indulge in our secret passion - we are coming to Ibiza.
