MARKY RAMONE

Marky Ramone is best known for the 15 years he spent drumming for the legendary Ramones. The spring of 1978, Marky joined the Ramones. In a matter of weeks he was in the studio recording his first album with The Ramones entitled, “Road to Ruin”, which features one of the biggest Ramones songs “I Wanna Be Sedated”. The following year the Ramones filmed the cult classic “Rock 'n' Roll High School”. Later that year, they joined forces with producer legend, Phil Spector to record “End Of The Century”.

After several tours and a two more studio albums, Marky was asked to leave the band 1983, only to rejoin his band mates in 1987 until they decided to call it quits in 1996. His tenure with the Ramones spanned a total of 15 years. Performing over 1700 shows and more than 15 releases, including songwriting credits on both Mondo Bizarro and Adios Amigos, the bands farewell release.
With no signs of slowing down, Marky continues to tour the world with his band, Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg, which includes friend Michale Graves (ex-Misfits) on vocals. In early 2010, they released their first single “When We Were Angles” with former member of Sheer Terror, Mark Neuman, playing bass and guitar.
Marky is currently in his sixth year as a D.J. on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, hosting, 'Marky Ramone's Punk Rock Blitzkrieg". Marky has also appeared on numerous TV shows including, The Simpsons, Anthony Bourdain's “No Reservations and ZRock.

Motorcycles, Metal and Marky Ramone
Sant Antoni live from Thursday, the third installment of HRH Road Trip

"I was surprised to see how people enjoyed the energy of the songs. I would love. "
Who thus expressed last year was none other than drummer Marky Ramone
after giving a concert with his band Blitzkrieg Mess.
Twelve months later, his wish has been fulfilled, as the only member of The Ramones
still alive back to the island, this time to San Antonio headlining the Hard Rock Hell Road Trip,
the annual gathering of bikers and rock which this year celebrates its third edition
to be held in the Club V from this coming Thursday.

Over six nights, a poster presented HRH with thirty bands that includes, along with Marky
Ramone's Blitzkrieg, a Swedish Heroes, Bonafide, Electric Boys, Fatal Smile, Seventy Seven
and Attica Rage.
All concerts will start sessions from ten at night.
The organizers of this festival also recommend that the last night,
which includes the performance of Marky Ramone, the public arrive early,
as soon as it is covered in the capacity of the venue will close the doors.

Run by a company with a large experience organizing festivals in the UK and similar events over here (Ibiza Bootcamp and Atomik Weekender) and followed by a loyal legion of hard rock fans (including families with kids) that repeat year after year, HRH Road Trip arrived to its 3rd edition with concerts every night by almost 30 bands (featuring 3 from the island) and daytime stuff like a boat trip, unplugged sessions at Itaca, etc... straight and to the point: a proper week-long alcohol-fueled rock'n'roll holiday!

For second year the concerts were held at the revamped V Club, with many highlights:
- Zodiac N Black with their doomy riffage a la Soundgarden (Badmotorfinger-era)
- Bonafide and Electric Boys... Sweden rocks!
- Attica Rage covering "Cowboy song" by my beloved Thin Lizzy
- Kyrbgrinder and their incredible drummer/singer... what a spectacle!
- Silverjet covering "Rebel yell" by Billy Idol
- '77... the closest thing to Bon Scott-era AC/DC that you will ever hear!
- Criminal and their intense blast beats
- Pat McManus' tribute to the late Gary Moore with the song "Belfast boy"
- Vice Squad and their old school punk rock discharge
- And last but definitely not least, the 80 mins of Ramones classics by Marky Ramone and his band, who was back on the island after last year's show at the posh club/restaurant/cabaret Lio and who will be back as a DJ in september for the closing of Rock Nights at Privilege!

Well done to the organization for putting up something like this in Ibiza and for letting us residents be part of it!

Next year HRH Road Trip IV will take place from may 15th, 2 weeks earlier than usual... see you in the mosh pit!
