How do I get to Cala D'hort/Es Vedra?

Hello! We are staying in Playa den bossa in July, and I really want to see Es Vedra this year since I never made it last year! It is my number one priority!

Are there any buses from PDB? Or is a taxi the better option?

Hiring a car could be an option for the day however I'm not the most confident driver in the world, is it relatively easy to get about the island/get to cala d'hort?

Thanks guys :)

It is a lovely drive to cala d'hort, I have got a taxi there before and had the restaurant ring me a taxi to get back. It was touch and go whether we would get one for a while though I would just hire the car for a day. Just take your time on the roads and you will be fine. No buses, my favourite beach for some reason just love to lie and look at the rock and isn't full of pretty PDB types mostly Spanish/local when I have been with a few English enjoying the peace. Sea is lovely and clear and warm to, the sunset also amazing from this beach.

Perfect thank you! Sounds amazing, cannot wait to return to the island! Will decide when we get there whether to hire a car or not! Afraid of getting lost Haha!

The road network is very basic/simple. Get a map from the hire place and get someone to direct you, I've been lost loads of times but it's half the fun :D I think it's harder to drive in the north of the island but if you've got the time it's well worth the trip. Cala st Vincent, cala llonga, portinax and benirras are all lovely beaches. Benirras has the hippies 'beating the sun down' on Sundays which is a nice experience compared with mambos.

Yeah we went to Benirras last year, had an amazing day and night there! Lay and watched the stars after the sun had gone down! Definitely going to go back this year! Thank you

I think taxi from PDB is around 25-30 euros, each way. If you're in a group of 3 or 4 its not too bad. Go early, and spend the day at the beach, then have a drink and a bite to eat.

Or as Ollie said, its better to get a car. It takes a wee bit getting used to but once you are it opens up the whole island to you and really above anything else about going to Ibiza I'd always recommend having your own wheels.

The GPS on my phone always works too so getting lost is a lot harder these days.

You know your on the right road as it becomes a fairly steep hill down with a stunning view. It can be better to park at the side of the road before you get to the bottom sometimes depending how busy it is. Either way make sure your comfortable flooring it in 1st gear to get back up the hill for the first bit lol

Thanks for the advice all, that's great! Think I will hire a car a car for the day for sure, but if its less than 10 euros each for a taxi...means we can chill and have a drink and food at Beniras!

I was wondered how far this would be to walk/hike to from PDB? Considering it if we make it over in May so no silly heat conditions to contend with!

I've walked around the island two years ago and we started in ibiza town. on day 3 we arrived at cala d'hort. ok we walked around the coastline, but even if you'd hike along the road, it'll still take you at least two days to walk from pdb to cala d'hort.

rent a car or a scooter or at least a bike!

Hahaha! An all too real possibility during my debauched visits to the island.

I'd like to think if we make it over in May - we'll behave a little better ... and the goats will be safe.
