the funny thing is that abel matutes wanted to buy it too...

New Venture
Giuseppe Cipriani, proprietor of the Downtown Ibiza restaurant and the Booom! Ibiza discotheque, has purchased a plot of land near the Ibiza Gran Hotel from the Ministry of Defence at a cost of 8.1 million euros. He intends to construct a luxury hotel and transfer the restaurant and discotheque which he already operates but which are currently using rented premises. Until 1988 the land belonged to the Town Hall but an exchange was agreed with the Ministry of Defence for the Can Ventosa textile manufacturing building, which now houses the social centre.
 
an update at last!

radio ibiza/cadena ser revealed some hours ago that giuseppe cipriani presented today the hotel project to the town hall, which would mean an inversion of 15 million euros, but he still has to pay 150.000€ to get the license!

i bet they will be happy with that inversion and the project will go ahead...
