The Punta Arabà Club will be presenting the first edition of "White Island Festival" with the aim of gathering together independent rock groups and the rising stars on the British music scene. Head of the bill will be "The Corderoys", who first began in Argentina before moving to Europe, firstly to Barcelona and then to Germany, where they made recordings and attracted a large following. They have played in several recognised festivals as well as the Cavern Club in Liverpool, and are now based in London. "The Vex" is another London rock group, whose music is influenced by The Who, The Clash and the Sex Pistols. Other well known names such as MT, Can Funky and Miles Winter have also confirmed their participation.

White Island Music Festival @ CLUB PUNTA ARABI (09/09/12)
Held at Club Punta Arabi in Es Cana, the first edition of the White Island Music Festival consisted of six bands plus the DJs Spider and the ex-3 Colours Red Chris McCormack (who soon will unveal his new project with Jaz Coleman from Killing Joke) in between them!
First on stage were the local bands Nowthen (who although haven't played live for a long while totally nailed it) and the covers combo Ca'n Funk. Then it was time for the kick-ass r'n'r of The Vex, the acoustic sounds of Miles Island, the amazing sonic discharge of The Corderoys and the fun show of MT. All in all, a brilliant evening!
Well done to Alex and everybody involved. More of the same next year, please...
