Vodafone 3G (Mobile Internet) Coverage on Ibiza

Hi!

We will be staying in a hotel with expensive Wi-Fi connection, so I thought buying a prepaid sim card (1.5GB for 15EUR sounds like a great deal http://www.vodafone.es/particulares/es/descubre-vodafone/ahorra-con-vodafone/tourist-in-spain/ ) will be a better option.

I've found 3 maps with 3G coverage info and all the three show something different :)

The best coverage is shown on the Vodafone site (of course) :)

http://www.vodafone.es/conocenos/es/cobertura-y-tiendas/cobertura/consulta-de-cobertura-movil/

Then a little worse here: http://opensignal.com/coverage-maps/Spain/

And the worst here: http://www.sensorly.com/map/2G-3G/ES/Spain/Vodafone/gsm_21401#|coverage

Any idea what's true about it? :)

Thanks!

I have vodafone

Ibiza town and pdb there's 4G

Almost everywhere on the island 3g expect some hidden places like calas or the middle of the island

There's a vodafone shop at the bus stop in av isidor macabich ibiza town...better if u go there

Awesome, thanks.. Tried to look up other mobile providers (Orange, Movistar), but I couldn't find an English site, so I don't know what do they offer.. Anyway I don't think I'll be able to get a better deal then with Vodafone :)

The movistar store right at the rotunda (or round fountain ) on avenida maccabich (sp?) Has repreaentatives that will speak English.

There is an orange store at avenida españa not to far from the park.
Vodaphone has a store in ave maccabich . I tried them all. They like to speak spanish but they will understand English especially vodaphone.

The real problem is that their sites aren't in English, so I can't look up their deals before I arrive at Ibiza, so I think I'll stick with Vodafone. Still thanks :)

Vodafone is generally rubbish away from the heavily populated areas. I live out near san carles, hardly the edge of the world and cannot make voice calls for lack of signal. North of the island generally is terrible for Vodafone coverage in my experience.

Vodafone will normally do a pre-paid sim with 1.6Gb internet, 100 minutes (not international calls) and unlimited texts (to spanish numbers only) and free vod to vod calls for 20eu, usually they make you start off with the 10eu option which gives you 600Mb internet but once you've used this up just go back to the vodafone shop and you can top up with 20eu and get the full 1.6Gb tariff setup
